How to Throw the Ultimate Taco Party

Depending on your location, and what kitchen or outdoor appliances are available, you’ll want to plan your meat as part of the base.  Carne Asada or Skirt Steak can feed a lot of people and is an excellent grilled.  Ground Beef can be cooked at home with taco seasoning ahead of time and can be kept warm in a crock-pot.  If you’d like to make a Fish Taco use tilapia and grill or sauté.  Your meat is your base the other ingredients to serve on the side or as toppers is all up to you. Below are a few great recipes that will help you make terrific tacos.

Carne Asada

3-10 lbs of Skirt Steak (12-40 people)

Marinade:

1 large chopped onion

3-5 cloves are chopped garlic

1 Orange, peeled and de-seeded, chopped into chunks and orange peels added

1 Lemon

¼ Teaspoon of ground Cumin

¼ Teaspoon of ground coriander

Fresh parsley

Marinade overnight and throw on the grill after brushing with oil or nonstick spray.  Cook meat for 4 minutes on each side, then let rest for 3 minutes before cutting.  Slice the meat into chunks and serve with chopped cilantro, fresh squeezed lime and Cotija Cheese.  Hot sauce, or any other sauces are optional as the meat with the cilantro and lime is plenty lends plenty of goodness.  Serve on fresh made blue corn tortillas or any other flavor soft taco shell.

Ground Beef Tacos

2-4 lbs. Of Ground Beef Sautéed till brown.  Add your own seasonings or buy the dry taco seasoning mix.  Once browned, add to your crock pot to keep warm.  These can be served with hard or soft taco shells and can have a variety of toppings.  Shredded Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese along with cubed tomatoes, black olives, shredded lettuce and taco sauce is all you really need for a great taco party.  We like to add extra items such as fresh sliced jalapeno’s or pineapple for a tropical twist.

Delish Fish Tacos

Fish tacos are by far one of our favorites and will soon be one of yours when you find out just how easy it is.  Buy fresh tilapia, catfish, or cod for a mild fish flavor or you can use crabmeat, shrimp and a variety of other fresh seafood as your base.  We buy pre-made creamy coleslaw and top our fresh grilled or sautéed fish with a scoop of slaw, Cotija cheese and top it with cilantro and a squeeze of lime and you’ve got a California style taco party your friends will rave about.

By using a little imagination, your taco party will be a breeze and one that everyone will be asking “When can we do that again?”

It’s really up to you, but this is one of the best party ideas you can come up with for fast, easy, and something everyone loves to eat!
