When you think of bowling if you picture people with big blousy shirts, beat-up-two-toned, leather shoes and throwing giant glittery balls down the lanes. Vintage bowling for your grandparents probably meant being in a league and coming home smelling like stale cigarettes and beer. If you picture these ideas when it comes to the game of bowling, then you’ll be happy to know the Wow Alley is NOT your Grandfather’s idea at all.
The local Bowlarama was blessed if it had a juke-box at all back in the day. Music was mostly heard if you happened to meet someone at the lounge area located inside of the facility. Today the Wow Alley has a state-of-the-art sound system that keeps you well entertained throughout your visit. Not only did we consider the importance of music, but we also took it to a whole new level by adding giant video screens to enhance the experience.
Some of you may remember visiting your parents when they went to the bowling alley or perhaps you took lessons yourself? Either way, kids at the lane tend to get bored mainly because of the low lighting. Since we love kids, we want them to get the ‘WOW’ factor, and they will work with both laser and black lights found throughout the alley.
Besides the great music and cool lighting, the Wow Alley also provides a full menu of delicious foods and snacks. Although your grandparents most likely enjoyed a hot dog, burger or some greasy French fries, our café offers nutritious and healthy selections too. We might guess your grandma would have appreciated an order of the toasted ravioli or a hand stretched pizza. Nonetheless, the food is all a part of the adventure.
Now you have three excellent reasons that the bowling alley of today isn’t the same as your grandpa’s idea of one from years gone. While ole’ grandad is kicking back reminiscing, you can show him how much more the venues have advanced.
Bowling is still the same old game it always was before. However, the advancements these entertaining spots have made supersedes what happened back in the 40’s and 50’s. So next time your family plans on getting together, go a day or night of it at the Wow Alley and see how much fun the game and atmosphere still has today.

With the fast-paced lifestyle, we all tend to lead these days, planning another birthday party can be somewhat daunting. We decided to put together a quick way to keep your child’s party simple and put the planning phase down to a minimum for you. This week’s blog reveals some quick tips on keeping it simple!
Determine the Day, Place and Time.
Pick the Food to be Served.
Invite a specified number of guests
Send Invitations Early
Ask for Help
One of the biggest hurdles in party planning is determining where and when to throw the party or event. Once you’ve got a place established with a date and time the rest should be simple. If you’re overwhelmed with everyday tasks and schedules, then pick a place where you won’t have to worry about clean up and the aftermath of the celebration. This cuts back a lot on the hours and minutes you’ll have to spend.
Next, decide on the food to be served. Have someone cater the party or order pizza. The whole idea here is to prevent you from having to do additional work. By planning to hold your child’s birthday party or banquet at a location nearby and finding food to be delivered or catered, will make your life much simpler.
In addition to the food, keep in mind a head count is critical. Take a tally on how many guests will be at the party so you can plan accordingly. Don’t wait until the last minute to devise your list either, as people often need time to plan if they want to attend.
Send the invitations early. Whether you’re hosting the party at your home or an outside venue, be sure to send the invitations right away. Be sure to have them RSVP to gauge the attendance, and this will prevent you from over-ordering when it comes to the catering.
Lastly, to make life easier be sure to reach out and ask for help. If you’re swamped (as most of us are) asking for others to pitch in with the planning phase is a good idea. Many times, if you ask your friend, neighbor or about participate, they’ll most likely agree. Just remember to reciprocate the favor.
By taking these easy tips into consideration before your next big party, you’ll most likely feel a sense of relief. We understand the dilemma’s parents face today and are always here to help.

In today’s dating world, there may be times where one could get into a slump. Finding new things to do can often be a challenge. Dinner and a movie are somewhat over rated. Some theories state dinner and a movie to be one of the worst ideas when it comes to first dates. Why? Because you can’t get an opportunity to speak to someone during the show and aren’t first dates meant to be the exploratory phase? Well, we have a few answers for you. In this blog, we state why bowling is an excellent activity for first dates, no matter what your age.
Per the International Bowling Museum, bowling began in 300 AD. If that’s not retro, we don’t know what is! Nonetheless, this ancient past time has been filling hearts with joy ever since they started. Rather than taking a date somewhere over priced and giving your date a ‘bore-into,’ why not introduce your new friend to one of the most fun and oldest sports in the history books? You might just find this to be your new hobby even after you’ve gotten married and had nine kids!
Okay, we’re obviously joking. But, the sport of bowling can be enjoyable, fun and exciting. You can see how your date will be in many future situations such as competitiveness, politeness, and strategic planning. However, why would these attributes entail revealing strong character?
Here are your answers:
Competitiveness in bowling is an excellent approach when you’re at the bowling alley. On a first date basis, this may tell you a lot of whether you’re continuing the relationship. In other words, keep the competition on the lanes!
Polite and etiquette go hand in hand or finger in the ball while bowling. As you know, it’s important to remember to wait for the person who is standing next to you
Strategic planning is another characteristic your date may impress you with when it comes to bowling. This type of aspect can help determine if this person will be on point planning your future family events and such.
Of course, these are just a few reasons to make a night of bowling one of your first dates. No matter if you’re 15 or 50 you can’t go wrong bringing your date-night to the bowling alley. All in all, we think pins and the bowling ball can help build strong relationships even when it’s the very first date.

Sometimes your child’s birthday may land on a school day but this doesn’t mean that you should wait until the weekend to make him/her feel special. There are so many birthday ideas that you can implement without spending much. Kids tend to enjoy the simplest things so don’t stress over going over-the-top with your birthday plans. In fact, planning for a birthday party shouldn’t be frustrating. We’ll let you in on some 7 fun and simple ideas to make your kid’s birthday extra special.
Start with a good breakfast
Even before the guests arrive, make your kid’s day by preparing his/her favorite breakfast. You may even decide to make the breakfast together. Anything to make them feel special even before the actual event begins.
Write a birthday letter
Make it tradition to write a birthday letter to your child every year. If your child is still too small to understand, save it and read it to him/her in later years. Every year, you can read the letters together. This letter should basically highlight the way your child has grown over the years and why they are so special to you.
Go through baby photos
There’s nothing better than spending some quality time with your child on their birthday. You can do this by going through some old baby photos or cards that you’ve stacked away for memories’ sake. You can even talk about how he/she was born and other milestones such as first day at school.
Give him/her a little freedom
It’s ok to allow the birthday child to enjoy his/her day. This could mean allowing the child to choose what they want to eat for dinner or even stay up past bedtime. It’s just a single day of the year when your child should be allowed to break some rules.
Decorate the birthday child’s room in the morning
Wake up early in the morning on the day of the birthday and surprise your child with some decorations in his/her room. You can do all this while your child is sleeping. Simple things like covering the floor with balloons that have different messages written on them can go a long way in making your child feel super excited.
Offer a random surprise
If your child’s birthday is on a school day, you can pick her/him up with a surprise gift. You can even hide a note or birthday card in their lunch bag so they come across it in the middle of the day. Bake a homemade cake and greet your child with it when you pick them up from school.
Organize a themed birthday
Themed birthday parties can be a great way to get the highest attendance and make your child very excited. There are so many birthday themes that you can consider including bowling themes, celebrity, makeover and army birthday themes. The idea is to make sure everything depicts the theme that you are trying to pull off. From the decorations to the food and venue, plan early in advance so that you don’t get overwhelmed by the process.

When it comes to New Year’s Eve, not too many people immediately think of bringing in the holiday toting your kids around. However, if you’re like most people with youngin’s that are still living at home, you can still enjoy the festivities with children of all ages. In this week’s blog, we share some ideas that you might be able to use to make it to 2017 without pulling out your hair in the process.
Once the month of December winds down, and you top it off with a great party to say goodbye to the previous year, it’s great to help your children understand what everyone’s celebrating. Give your kids something to look forward to like improving their self-esteem; school work acts of kindness. Remember to guide your children to understand it’s out with the old and in with the new!
*One thing you can do is blow up some generic balloons and write different time on them leading up to the ball dropping. For instance, 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 P.M. on separately on each balloon. With every hour have the children pop the balloon with a dart. Popping balloons will not only keep them awake until midnight, but it’s also a whole lot more fun than hearing “Is it time yet?” from your little ones every fifteen minutes. To change it up a bit, you can roll up small pieces of paper giving an activity that will take up until the next balloon pop. Activities such as play a game, eat a snack, etc., The whole idea is to keep each hour rolling and not letting the kids get bored.
**Next is the actual balloon drop at midnight. Visit a local balloon shop or florist and ask to have a giant balloon filled with confetti and other balloons. When the clock hits twelve, pop the oversized balloon to celebrate like they do on television. Super fun, and a little messy but well worth it!
***While kids may not know what the champagne tastes like, you can easily conjure up this great recipe using Perrier or Sparkling water and cotton candy. Just place the cotton candy pieces inside a child safe glass, pour the sparkling water and watch the smiles. This neat little trick will make them feel special, and it’s so fun to watch the looks on their little faces when the cotton candy disappears and turns into bubbles.
Don’t forget to stock up on noisemakers as this is one of the best ways for a kid to enjoy the festivities. Keep plenty of healthy snack foods on hands such as shrimp cocktail and cheese plates. With a little parent guidance and a few party favors, toting kids around your New Year’s party will be a cinch!

When it comes to bowling, many people feel this is a game of skill and strength. While that might be true, there are some real misconceptions out there when it comes to knocking down ten pins. This leisure activity offers a multitude of benefits that can make a difference in just about anyone’s life. In this week’s blog, we reveal five common misconceptions about the game you might not have thought.
Bowling isn’t as good as playing a video game
Bowling is too easy
Bowlers should play alone
Ten Pins is an ‘old-school’ game
Bowling is only for adults
There’s a reason why game systems such as Playstation and the Wii have created bowling games. While these might be a lot of fun to play in the comfort of your home, there’s something exciting about wearing funny looking shoes and toting around a bowling ball. Some people may argue bowling isn’t as fun as a video game. On the contrary, this is a way to offer an aerobic activity that is low impact; it’s a way to perfect your skills with strategic planning and form just as any other sport and bowling are a whole lot more fun when you get together with friends and family.
Believe it or not, but, the first games of bowling were played by the Egyptians as they used balls made of porcelain and leather rolling the human-made balls to know over stones and other objects. Since we live today, bowling has become a competitive sport because it requires you to take the proper stance and aim for the center pin. However, when you’re shooting for a straight or some other spare, you need to understand gravity and physics to know where the ball will hit the pins to knock down the ones left standing. That requires skill and makes the game more challenging. Understanding the arrows and dots on the wood lane is another tool people use making the game one that is legendary when it comes to sports.
While bowling is an activity you can play without the company of others, the game does become more fun when there are more people. The camaraderie could be one of the biggest reasons why bowling leagues got started. We like to say “the more, the merrier,” and we’re sure you would agree after playing with a few of your closest friends.
Ten Pins or bowling is not an old-school game. Today, kids of all ages are enjoying the benefits of this non-contact sport.
Bowling is not just for adults either. We are seeing children as young as three, push the ball down the lane anticipating its destination. Bumper bowling is ideal for mom’s and toddlers, and we’re happy to accommodate.
We hope this clears up any misconceptions you may have had about the game of bowling and bring your family in for this international game of fun!

It seems almost every year the kids are more focused on gifts and playtime and not enough learn the real ideology of the season. In this blog, we point out a few tips that will help your boys and girls remember to help make the world a better place.
Thanksgiving and Family Dinners are always a superb time to discuss how much you appreciate each other. After all, our young ones learn starts at home. Why not teach them to show their gratitude toward people in your family by letting everyone comment on who and why they are thankful? You can start a gratitude jar and decorate it for the holidays and then have each family member pull one of the remarks and read during the dinner. Announcing why we’re gracious is not only fun, it’s 100% heartwarming.
Next up, “Random Acts of Kindness.” It seems we all have a little too much on our plate today to take our mind off and place our energies elsewhere. Remember the old folks that live next door or a charity that has a worthy cause. Get your children involved in philanthropy and doing kind things for others without making a big deal of it. Perhaps they can volunteer to help take out the garbage for the senior woman living alone or bring them to charitable events for kids less fortunate to help open their eyes to helping others.
Hold a food or toy drive within your neighborhood. Anyone can do this activity. When you get, your kids involved, it becomes a unique event. Help them promote giving to other children their age by collecting food or toys, and they bring to a drop off center. Food drives are something you can do any time of year. These are events you can do anytime. The whole idea is to help you son or daughter be open to looking out for the needs of others. We call it humanity, and it makes a huge difference when more of us can be pro-active in the community.
Give your kids the ideas to do nice things for others, and you’ll be teaching them some value and morals important to their success on becoming great citizens.

How to prevent your child from getting the holiday blues.
It seems it was only yesterday the kids went back to school, and now we’re facing that time of year where holiday vacations are once again upon us. For most parents, this time of year can be a lot of fun. That is if the kids are enjoying themselves. However, if you start to hear those famous words “What Can We Do Today, I’m Bored?” it’s time to find an outlet. In this blog, we present you with some tips that keep the kids preoccupied without charging up your credit cards in the process.
Tip One:Try a new recipe. If your kids like to get messy in the kitchen, then why not try a few new recipes that can keep them entertained? Bear in mind, this time of year the parents aren’t the only ones who are faced with making healthy choices. Help you, kids, to find recipes they will enjoy both making and eating without putting on the extra pounds. New types of vegan cookies or healthy granola bars can be low-calorie alternatives.
Tip Two: Go Hiking. There are plenty of trails and places for the kids to enjoy being outdoors. This time of year South Florida is perfect because of both weather and lack of bugs. Even though it’s still a good idea to wear sunscreen and mosquito repellent when hitting a nature walk, this is the most pleasant time of year for fresh air. Make the time you spend with your children a learning one by identifying plants and wildlife. Whatever the case maybe, you’ll find this both enjoyable for your kids and you.
Tip Three: Start a family blog. Go to WordPress.com and start your family blog then invite other members of the clan to join in. Give them individual writing assignments, post pictures and invite other people to join in. By including your kids to be a part of this project may open new doors and develop confidence.
Tip Four: Plan a field trip to the Wow Factory. Don’t forget to invite the other kids in the neighborhood or from your child’s class. The Wow Factory is a place that’s not only fun, but it also helps children to develop unique skills such as team building and motor skill development. Of course, we highly recommend this tip!
Before you know it, the kids will be back to school and life will get back to normal. We suggest planning a few activities to give your children something to look forward to during the season. Whatever you do, we’re always here to break up the monotony.
