Summertime is just around the corner! Whether your children are tots or school aged, the time is right to start planning those fun-filled summer activities. It can be tough to find things to do when you have kids of varying ages, but we are here to help! We have a few ideas to add to your list of “must-do’s” this summer that will work for kids age 1 to 11+! Here are 4 fun things to do with your kids this summer:
Whether you camp in the backyard or at a park, summertime camping is a fun bonding activity for you and your children. Be sure to pack a sleeping bag, bug spray, and plenty of water and snacks for your fun camp out!
- Build a Hideout
Build memories that will last a lifetime when you build a fun hideout in your backyard! A hideout can be as simple or as elaborate as you want. Sample building materials include sheets, boxes, and scrap siding or boards.
- Bug Hunting
A magnifying glass and a cup are the only tools needed for a fun game of bug hunting! Tiny tots and older kids can equally enjoy searching for and exploring bugs.
- Make Music
Kids of all ages love music! Music can be made with pots and pans, spoons, toilet paper or paper towel tubes, and hands and fingers. Discover pitch and tone, or just have fun letting loose with silly music!
All of these activities can be enjoyed by kids of all ages, and none of them requires a long list of items or the need to run to the store. Each and every one of these fun activities can be scaled as small or as large as you want! Plus, if you have a family with kids of all ages, you can all enjoy some quality time together this summer.
